Parallel Data Transmission using New Line Encoding Method

    Get PDF
In our research paper, we have introduced a unique and new line code method/technique that will have the capability to send two different codes in parallel or concurrently using a single line code, and this will be achieved without any major loss in the shape of the signal. In our proposed new line code, the structure of our code is based on two already well-known line codes that have been used many times in the data communication field, both of them have been combined together. We can say that our new line coding method is a hybrid encoding scheme. This line code combines the properties of already existing line code techniques. At the receiver end, we have implemented a very easy and basic separation  technique that shall help us to separate the real user codes from the added line code, and this will happen without any disturbance or major loss/distortion. There will be no effect on the signal of input data

Performance Comparison of Real-Time Video Conferencing In MPLS and IP Networking Environment

    Get PDF
Modern techniques in networking have evolved a diverse range of opportunities to resolve the challenging task of traffic engineering. With a principle focus on video conferencing that has gained popularity worldwide, we contrive to optimize video traffic by using Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) rather than conventional Internet Protocol (IP) networks. MPLS can be a promising technology for real-time applications with low network delays and efficient utilization of network resources. To substantiate this, in this paper we model certain scenarios of both IP and MPLS networks using Optimized Networking Engineering Tool (OPNET) to simulate and provide comparative performance statistics of throughput and end-to-end packet delay. We illustrate that MPLS has the ability that makes it stand out to IP by analyzing the simulation results of both networking mechanisms

Statistical Power Profiling of Various Network Switches

    Get PDF
In the present century there is an expansion in the use of telecommunication network services, because many organizations and business firms do not compromise on networking services, therefore this efficiency of networking services can be achieved only if there are reliable and proficient networking components. To provide exemplary networking services it is necessary to know what are the parameters for networking components. A standout amongst the most vital parameters is the vitality utilization or energy utilization of networking components. Subsequently, there is a need for power profiling of the network switches. Power usage of different kinds of switches, under various load scenarios are tested and recorded. The tool that we have used in this research paper to measure the powerusage factor of various switches is emonpi

Chairman HEC, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman was the Chief Guest. In her welcome address Director AERC, Dr. Shahida Vizarat, outlined the major achievements of AERC in academic and research work during the previous calendar year

IMPACT OF WTO-COMPLIANT ANTI-PIRACY INITIATIVE ON THE PAKISTANI SOFTWARE VENDORS

    Get PDF
INTRODUCTIONThe Pakistan government has been under severe pressure from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and International Intellectual Property Alliance to tighten its anti-piracy regime. In 2000, IIPA recommended Pakistan to be placed on the watch list of major violators of international intellectual property legislation. According to IIPA, Pakistani copyright law is TRIPS-incompatible. The Alliance called for a TRIPS-compatible draft that should take into account new technologies including implementation of provisions of WIPO treaties like WCT and WPPT

PSEUDO-SCIENTIFIC JARGONS AND ADVERTISING PERSUASIVENESS SHAMPOOS

    Get PDF
To the best of my knowledge, no study on the effectiveness of using pseudo scientific jargons has been carried out in the Pakistani context. This paper presents the findings of a controlled study on the persuasion effectiveness of the use of pseudo-scientific jargon in advertising. I study the consumer reactions to the use of pseudo-scientific jargons in advertising and explicitly examine the advertisement persuasiveness in terms of consumers’ purchase intention

The Federal budget 2006-2007 presented in the National Assembly is totaled at PKR 1315 billion. This is 19.7% higher than the Federal Budget 2005-2006. For FY06, the revised fiscal deficit was PKR 328 billon. This is expected to increase to about PKR 394 billion in FY07. This, it is estimated will approximate 4.5 percent of the GDP. It is assumed that the government will achieve a growth rate target of 7 percent and inflation target of 6.5 percent during FY 2006 – 2007

Governing the Labour Market: The Impossibility of Corporatist Reforms

    Get PDF
This paper argues that a return to corporatist governance structures is impossible in Pakistan. Section 1 outlines neo-classical labour market regulation rationalities presented by Hayek, Wieser, and Sen. Section 2 compares and contrasts Fordist and Post-Fordist modes of labour market regulation. And Section 3 seeks to establish the impossibility of institutionalising corporatist governance structures in the labour markets of Pakistan. Neo-classical theory sees relations between labour and the representatives of capital (‘managers’) as relations created spontaneously by individuals in the pursuit of their rational self-interest. The capitalist individual, be he labourer or manager, defines ‘maximisation of utility’ as his ‘rational self interest’, and order within the labour market requires a reconciliation of individual (the labourer’s) and aggregate (the manager’s) utility maximisation (with aggregate utility maximisation being represented by shareholders value). Labour market order is thus impeded if
